Consignment is when a resale store sells your items for you for a percentage of the sale. Chic and Unique markets, inspects, steam-cleans, and promotes your items with the intent of selling it quickly at a price that attracts buyers. We are not a "thrift store" as we hand select each item based on our customer needs, requests, styles, brand, and in-seasonal items.
Schedule online for a convenient time for you to bring in your items. The whole process can take about 15 minutes. Appointments are scheduled Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 11:30-6:30.

We ask that you do not bring items in garbage bags. We accept in-season clothing, up to 15 items total. Items must be flawless, clean, pet and fur free, free of perfumes/smoke/any scent. It's recommended to put items inside ONE STANDARD SIZED TOTE or CARDBOARD BOX (no larger than 14 gallon) WITH A CLOSED LID and is NOT OVERSTUFFED. Be sure to include a note with your name on the inside of your tote with your clean items.
We know our clientele very well and what our customers are looking for with the high quality items they expect. We accept women’s trendy, seasonal clothing (no more than three years old), shoes without signs of wear, and handbags that are new, gently used, unstained/flawless, with no perfume/pet/smoke smells, and are in perfect working order (zippers, buttons, clips, etc.). Please do not be offended if we do not accept your items. Please check the page of brands we accept if you have questions.
Every consignor is asked to fill out a short consignment agreement in order to open an account with us. We need your address so we know where to send the checks!
We ask that you only bring in items you are 100% ready to part with. We will make exceptions for high-end luxury items ONLY (Louis Vuitton, Prada, Chanel, Gucci, etc.) which will be discussed during your scheduled appointment. All unaccepted items are donated locally to help support our local community in Windsor, CA.
Chic N Unique will inspect, price, market, and promote your items during a 90 day term period. We price items at approximately 25-30% of the retail value to sell them quickly so that our buyers and sellers are both happy. We will have markdown periods during this time to help sell your clothes priced at our discretion. You'll keep 40% of the selling price (70% for luxury only: Louis Vuitton, Chanel, Gucci, Tiffany, etc. NOT Coach/Kate Spade. Authentication is required and deducted from the consignor account.) as “store credit” and will be paid when your account has accumulated the minimum of $20.00. Checks are available on the 21st of each month. Checks expire after 180 days and will not be rewritten for any reason. WE DO NOT CALL YOU to update you on your account status. You will be responsible to call us or stop by during business hours to inquire your account balance.
You bet! This is the most popular benefit our consignors prefer. Use your store credit towards ANY purchase - it's like creating your own discount!
If your items haven’t sold by the end of the consignment period, merchandise can either be returned to you or donated. Please note that Chic N Unique does this as a convenience and that we are not a charity. We are not authorized to issue tax deductions. If you choose to have your items returned to you, Chic N Unique will notify you via email and ask you to pick them up within ten days.
A reminder will be sent to the owner via email or mail to pick up unsold items. ITEMS MUST BE CLAIMED WITHIN 10 DAYS OF THE NOTIFICATION OR THEY WIL BE BECOME THE PROPERTY OF CHIC N UNIQUE OR DONATED. Chic N Unique is not responsible for notices lost by the United States Postal Service or due to junk mail or undeliverable email etc. When picking up items without our reminder, please give us 24 hours notice. You may choose to have unsold items shipped back to you at your expense.
We happily donate your unsold items at the end of the 90 day consignment period. We proudly donate to local charities in our community who benefit greatly from your items. Your items will stay out of the landfill and have a longer sustainable life. You’re helping leave a less carbon footprint when your items are donated.
Absolutely. Many consignors choose to set up their accounts so that checks are automatically issued to their charity of choice.
Please schedule an appointment online first. by clicking Book on the Consignment page. We will not accept any unscheduled drop offs. Please note that we have a limited availability of weekend appointments that can be scheduled since we are very busy selling your items to our customers. Most appointments are scheduled on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays between 10:30-6:30pm.
PLEASE NOTE THAT ALL ITEMS THAT HAVE NOT MET OUR QUALITY STANDARDS OR HAVE NOT BEEN SOLD AT THE END OF OUR 90 DAY CONSIGNMENT PERIOD WILL AUTOMATICALLY BE DONATED AND WILL NOT BE RETURNED. WE DONATE LOCALLY TO HELP THOSE LOCALLY IN NEED.
